February is the month of love and Valentines' Day is not only Valentines' Day in our home, it's also our wedding Anniversary - yes, that's right I've got a man who thought it would be good to propose on Christmas Day and say, let's get married on Valentines' Day... in 6 weeks. Now, he is a man of romance, but he's also a logistical specialist, so he chose dates he would never forget and in the soon to be 14 years, he never has.
Now to me, romance is an everyday thing. It's a part of our life and we're both independent people who are busy "doing things we love", so we consciously make time for each other, even if it's just a phone call from the car or going to Bunnings together, yes Bunnings Hardware and generally being "loved up" with each other because we choose to be. And here's why: I made the choice to be happily married and put the effort in, rather than direct all of my energy at being somewhat, happily married....
So Valentines Day or not, we all have a choice about how we live our lives, where we direct our energy to and from personal experience, it really does make a difference.
